Foil printing, Thermal transfer
- Foil printing (heat embossing)

Imprinting the foil using heat embossing techniques can be seen as a "precursor" for the thermal transfer imprint and is therefore utilised less.

Heat embossing does, however, allows special opportunities: effects can be embossed, e. g. silver foil (shining silver in contrary to a rather matt silver surface using a bubble-jet printer), silver foil with special effects, gold foil, hologram foil.

Admittedly, the aforementioned foils fade after washing when compared to normal colour foils are wash resistant up to 95°C.

Glücksband offers a wide choice of foils. With higher quantities order, one colour can also be patterned.

Heat embossing is technically similar to the thermal transfer imprint.

The heat embossing printer uses a corroded magnesium printing plate, which is heated. The printing plate presses on the band with the basic material and the colour is transfered.

The following materials are mainly used for heat embossing:

plastified nylon, similar to the thermal transfer imprint _

coated polyester, suitable for stone washing _

The configuration and strength of heat embossing differs from the foil for TT-imprint.
