Leather labels, leatherette labels

Labels from leather or leatherette are extremely robust and have an idiosyncratic, typical optical characteristic.

Usually, they are manufactured by heat embossing with a relief as depression (also: inside of the depression with raised areas) or using blind embossing (without foil) or in the form of foil embossing (e. g. gold, silver). With blind embossings, and certain basic materials, the leather or leatherette at the embossed area can dark on in colour as a result of the heat, whereby the characteristic blind embossing optic arises.

Glücksband also offers leather and leatherette labels in lower quantities at attractive prices.

For depressed embossing, a magnesium printing plate is pressed into the material a little stronger and deeper than with plain foil embossings. The material is plastically compressed downwards through pressure and heat and will later retain this form.

Leather and leatherette can also be imprinted using flexoprinting. This technique, however, is only recommendable under certain conditions, as the basic material has mostly a medium dark to dark colouration and the opacity of the colour in flexoprinting my not be sufficient.

The material can also be covered completely with a foil layer.

Leather or leatherette of thickness 0.7 mm up to 1.5 mm is used.

Leatherette can have a plain or structured surface and is available in many colours.

This resistant material allows leather labels and leatherette labels to withstand stone-washing programmes and colouration treatments without problem.
